PT Pelni add one ship passengers heading to Karimunjawa, Central Java, namely KM Lawit. These additions to respond to the needs of the population in Karimun Islands who require a mode of transportation that is able to sail in bad weather though.

"Schedule Lawit KM is expected to encourage economic activity in Karimun Islands residents who want to Semarang," said Corporate Secretary of PT Pelni Didik Dwi Prasetio in a release on Saturday (03/18/2017).

Ships with a capacity of 1,000 people docked in Karimun every Saturday at week 2 and week 4 of each month. KM Lawit already set sail to karimunjawa on March 11, 2017 yesterday.
With the presence of KM Lawit, now every week there Pelni ships that sailed to Karimun. Since then there had been 2015 KM Kelimutu who brings tourists to the Port of Tanjung Emas-Publications, departing each week the 1st and 3rd of each month.

"With the service on board is getting better and complete, we certainly hope Pelni contribution to the economy of the community and the tourism industry in both regions can be even greater," he said.

KM Kelimutu has become one of the ship's activities Study On Board of Semarang and Karimun. Future also will be offered to tourists from Kumai to be traveled to Karimun.
